It has been reported that a former Hollywood screenwriter by the name of Bobby Galinski is planning a biopic of the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence for the big screen Galinsky revealed on radio station 702 Sydney that the proposed project, entitled Two Worlds Colliding, is based on the book Just a Man: The Real Michael Hutchence.
The biography was written by the frontman’s mother and sister following his death back in 1997.
INXS started out in 1977 in Sydney, New South Wales. The band were incredibly successful and went on to have several No 1s in Australia and around the world, with hits including Need You Tonight, Suicide Blonde and New Sensation.
In 1997 Hutchence was found dead in a hotel room, with the official ruling of death by suicide by the coroner.
Galinsky has revealed his screenplay was "from the family's side as Michael being a son, a brother, a friend". He added "It's not a sex, drugs and rock'n'roll tabloid situation. Who was Michael Hutchence? What drove him? What were his demons? What were his loves?"
Casting on the proposed project is expected to begin next year. The screenwriter's previously worked on the 1990 thriller Flatliners starring Kiefer Sutherland,Gallinsky has been based on Australian shores since 1994.
