The final casting touches are being put to Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with Dane DeHaan (best known as the tragic villain Andrew from Chronicle) scoring the role of Harry Osborn. Taking to Twitter, Webb himself confirmed the casting earlier today. Originally portrayed by James Franco in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, Harry is Peter Parker's close friend and class mate, before embarking on a career in villainy. There is no word on whether or not Harry's father, Norman (Willem DaFoe in the originals), will be making an appearance, even though he was heavily referenced to in the first film.
DeHaan joins returning cast members Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, as well as other newcomers Shailene Woodley as MaryJane Watson (originally Kirsten Dunst), and the still unconfirmed, but long rumoured, Jamie Foxx as the movies' big bad, Electro.
Released: May 2nd 2014
