Last year, Jack Rynor was known in Ireland as 'that guy in What Richard Did'. In 2014, he will be known the world over as 'that guy in Transformers 4'. From Lenny Abrahamson to Michael Bay in 2 years. Not bad at all. The announcement comes from the Master Of Bay-hem himself, who went on to call the young Irish actor "the real deal". Bay also went on the say that this fourth installment is not a reboot, that it transitions on from the events of the first trilogy leading into a new trilogy. So could be that rumours of this being Bay's last Transformers film as director were greatly exaggerated.
While nothing is confirmed, it is said that Reynor's role will be a lead role alongside Mark Wahlberg. While we have to wait for that to be verified, I find it highly unlikely that Bay would go out of his way to announce a bit part. Because I'm Irish, part of me will begrudge Reynor his success. For that parts that don't: well done, sir!
Filming begins this May, with the movie hitting cinema's June 27th 2014.
