The original Kick-Ass is not only one of my favourite comics from the last few years but I idolise the movie, so I really can’t wait too much longer for the sequel. The first official image from said sequel has just showed up online, showcasing Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes and Aaron Johnson as Kick-Ass.
It’s got alot going for it, the original cast are back, Matthew Vaughn is producing and hand picked Jeff Wadlow to direct. And the source material, Mark Millars book, is off the wall completely. If you thought the original was violent and crazy, you ain’t seen nothing yet! But for whatever reason, I’m a little reserved with this. Maybe it’s because I hold the original in such high regard and I really wonder can they recreate the style of Kick-Ass and hold true to the comic. No offense to Wadlow, but if Vaughn was directing I’d be a bit more at ease and I would have imagined some sort of teaser trailer to have hit by now, and maybe with this first official image that isn’t too far behind. Here’s hoping they can pull of the scale of this as well, considering the finale takes place in Times Square with one almighty free for all between the entire costumed head crackin’ cast!
Synopsis: When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world's first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she's forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.
Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world's first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there's only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.
