Massive 2013 Movie Preview Part Two

SHARE:

Here lies July to December 2013 in part two of our Massive 2013 Movie Preview.

Movie: The Lone Ranger
Released:
July 3rd USA / 9th August IRE & UK
Synopsis: Native American spirit warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice.
Why we’re looking forward to it:
Johnny Depp doing another “character” performance surely can’t go wrong, even if it’s Jack Sparrow all over again. Hammer is great and the scale of The Lone Ranger looks amazing. Bruckheimer is set to deliver some seriously epic action set pieces as well with this one!

Movie: Pacific Rim
Released:
July 12th USA / IRE / UK
Synopsis: When an alien attack threatens the Earth's existence, giant robots piloted by humans are deployed to fight off the menace.
Why we’re looking forward to it:
Giant robots kicking the shit out of giant monsters with epic devastation, what more do you want? Oh yeah, it’s directed by Guillermo Del fuckin’ Toro! This is right at the top of my must see moves for the year!! Bring it on!

Movie: Kick-Ass 2
Released:
19th July 2013Synopsis: The costumed high-school hero Kick-Ass joins with a group of normal citizens who have been inspired to fight crime in costume. Meanwhile, the Red Mist plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows.
Why we’re looking forward to it: A long awaited sequel, will be interesting to see how this one plays out after a hugely successful first outing.

Movie: The Wolverine
Released:
26th July 2013
Synopsis:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, “The Wolverine” finds Logan (Hugh Jackman), the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed. Why we’re looking forward to it: Anything regarding the X-men franchise is ok with me providing it isn’t being overdone. Wolverine is pretty much most people’s favourite, who wouldn’t want more of that? Especially if Jackman is on song.

Movie: The Worlds End
Released:
August 14 IRE & UK / October 25th USA
Synopsis: Five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier unwittingly become humankind's only hope for survival.
Why we’re looking forward to it:
For likeability and hilarity you CANNOT really go wrong with Nick Frost and Simon Pegg not to mention Martin Freeman who also stars. And it’s revolving around a pub crawl. And we’re Irish here, so thats always a good thing, stereotype or otherwise.

Movie: Elysium
Released:
9th August / September 20th IRE & UK
Synopsis: Set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.
Why we’re looking forward to it:
Because Neill Blomkamp had an amazing directorial debut with District 9 and we genuinely can’t wait to see what he does with this! End of!

Movie: Rush
Released: 13th September (U.K./IRL)/ 20th September (U.S.)
Synopsis: A biography of Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda and the 1976 crash that almost claimed his life. Mere weeks after the accident, he got behind the wheel to challenge his rival, James Hunt.
Why we’re looking forward to it: Ron Howard brings the break neck speed of Formula One to the big screen, while mapping the drama of one of the sports greatest rivalries.

Movie: Sin City: A Dame to Kill for
Released:
October 4th
Synopsis
: n/a
Why I’m looking forward to it: 7 years after the first film sees another big name cast in Frank Millers moody cult epic. Critically acclaimed this will have hype written all over it I liked the first movie, some big names on board for this one.

Movie: Thor: The Dark World
Released:
8 November USA / IRE / UK
Synopsis: Thor battles an ancient race of Dark Elves led by the vengeful Malekith who threatens to plunge the universe back into darkness after the events of
Avengers Assemble.
Why we’re looking forward to it: Because we’re still drooling after The Avengers for some more Thor action.

Movie: The Counsellor
Released: 15th November
Synopsis: A lawyer finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking.
Why we’re looking forward to it: Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender. Add a fantastic supporting cast, including Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem, this is a must see.

Movie: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Released: December 13 USA / IRE / UK
Synopsis: The Dwarfs, Bilbo and Gandalf have successfully escaped the misty mountains, but Bilbo has gained the one ring. They all continue their journey to get their gold back off the Dragon, Smaug.
Why we’re looking forward to it: An Unexpected Journey was absolutely fantastic, but kept us wanting more. And man are we hungry for more!!!! Bring this one ON..now! To hell with waiting till Xmas!

Movie: Anchorman: The Legend Continues
Released: 20th December
Synopsis: The continuing on-set adventures of San Diego's top rated newsman.
Why we’re looking forward to it: The first Anchorman is a beloved, and   much quoted, comedy classic. We can't wait to see what the Channel Five News Team have in store for us this time.

So there you have it! A gigantic preview for 2013, which is going to be absolutely AWESOME!!!
