Side Effects, the film Steven Soderbergh announced would be his final time behind the camera, was released yesterday, but speaking to BBC's Film Programme, the director revealed we would actually be seeing 'Directed by Steven Soderbergh' on the big screen one more time. In Europe at least. Talk turned to Behind The Candlelabra, a T.V. biopic of famed pianist Librace that is airing in the U.S. on HBO in May, with the director saying the movie had been picked up by distributor EOne for theatrical release in the U.K. (EOne covers more territories than U.K., including Ireland).
Starring Michael Douglas as Librace, Behind the Candlelabra charts the tempestuous 6 year relationship between the pianist and his much younger lover Scott Thorson (Matt Damon). The movie also stars Rob Lowe, Scott Bakula, and Dan Ackroyd. No release date has been given as of yet.
