Coming from director David Michod (2010's masterful crime thriller Animal Kingdom), The Rover is a futuristic western taking place in the Australian desert. While this automatically makes you think Mad Max, Michod promises something "way more chillingly authentic and menacing". Guy Pearce stars a Eric, a man pushed to the edge when a gang steals the last of his possessions. He sets out to take the gang, forced to enlist the help of naive, injured gang member Rey (Robert Pattinson, with yet another role a million miles away from Edward Cullen). The first image from the movie has hit, showing Pearce and Pattinson getting up close and personal. No one does a snarl quite like Pearce.
