Halle Berry joins X-Men: Days Of Future Past

With a good chunk of the original X-Men cast returning for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which sees the First Class cast dealing with a mutant from the future sent back to prevent their dark time from happening, it was expected Halle Berry would reprise the role of Storm for the movie. Now, thanks to director Bryan Singer and his addiction to Twitter, we have confirmation that she will indeed return.  This comes hot on the heels of Singer annoucing French actor Omar Sy (The Intouchables) has been cast in an unspecified role, joining other newcomer Peter Dinklage. The casting of Berry may shed some light on who Sy will play. 

Since his casting, the one character the French actor has been linked to is time traveller Bishop. He has already played a part in an adaption of Days Of Future Past for the X-Men cartoon (which differed slightly from the original comic storyline since Bishop didn't appear for nearly a decade later), so it's not all that crazy to think he will turn up here. Berry returning adds strength to the speculation, since in the comic books it heavily suggested that Storm is Bishop's grandmother, and, to me, that is a connection that will play very well in the movie. Again, this all speculation. Filming is expected to begin very soon, so hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out who Sy will be playing.
