Anybody knows that on a first day of production of a movie, it's kind of a set back when the director is a no-show. This is exactly what happened to independent production Jane Got A Gun, a western about a woman who enlists her ex-lover to defend her farm from a group of outlaws, which was set to begin shooting yesterday. It was to be the next feature from We Need To Talk About Kevin director Lynne Ramsay, but she inexplicably didn't arrive on set (though rumours abound the director wasn't happy with her contract). She was replaced by Gavin O'Connor (Warrior), but the project was dealt another blow when Jude Law, who joined the movie with the sole purpose of joining the movie was to work with Ramsay, formally withdrew from filming. This leaves producer and star Natalie Portman, and fellow producer and financier Scott Steindorf scrambling to find a replacement. This is second actor to replaced for the film, with Michael Fassbender having to bow out earlier this week, due to a scheduling clash with X-Men: Days Of Future Past. He was replaced with Joel Edgerton.
There is no word on the current status of the movie.
