It was previously reported that Sam Raimi, whose Oz The Great And Powerful is released on Friday, would be taking the directors chair for the upcoming remake of the classic horror movie Poltergeist. Well, it turns out he won't be helming the project, but will stay on board as producer. While Raimi would have been perfect for the movie, the person they are bringing on does get me excited for the remake. The director will be Gil Kenan, director of the fantastic animated movie Monster House, which for a kids film was extremely creepy, so he does have some experience when it comes to haunted houses, and should be a good fit for the movie that is considered THE haunted house movie.
