Ridley Scott has announced a partnership with Machinima on YouTube. The two will collaborate on 12 short sci-fi films together. Scott’s role will see the Alien director act as executive producer and he’ll also select directors. Obviously it’s a good thing and Ridley Scott Associates are dipping their toes a little deeper into new media. Scott says “"With new media transforming the way audiences connect with films and filmmakers, Machinima is a great partner for us as we embark on this new model of delivering original content to fans."
It’s not the first time Scott has been connected with youtube in some capacity. In 2011, the director produced Life In A Day, the 94 minute movie that included scenes from around 4500 hours of footage, submitted by people from 192 nations around the world!
