Did you ever wonder what Han Solo got up to while traversing the universe doing his dodgy dealings? I mean before the whole Rebel Alliance thing and getting involved with the good guys? Set the Millenium Falcon on course and then what? Play cards with Chewie? Some sit ups maybe?
Even after he met Luke, he must have got pretty bored with all the Jedi practising and he didn’t actually have access to Leia for ages. Hans must have filled his time on board with something! The Falcon might have been old and decrepit but it had enough technology to blast around the universe, was there enough to power some kind of online gaming.
Perhaps certain iconic sci fi characters gambled their spare time away while waiting for the big showdown at the end of the film…..
Han Solo
In between schmoozing Leia, walking Chewie and looking really suave and cool, surely Han would be an online gambler on slots and blackjack at Springbok Casino.com? High stakes and big risks, he’d be all about taking the chance for a big payout (maybe Jabba The Hutt owned that casino too!) - and probably lose most of it along the way. Hours would go by while he’s going for one more hand or one more spin, while the Empire goes to rack and ruin and he’s getting chased for those huge debts...
Jabba the Hutt
Obviously trotting down to the nearest space casino would be beyond someone of Mr Hutt’s morbid obesity. He can’t even shuffle far enough to torture his victims anymore and has to keep them chained to his side at all times. But he must have some leisure time in among his horrible criminal activities and I’m willing to bet that online slots would be his choice of game. He’d obviously have to instruct his minions to click the mouse though. Jabba truly comes across as an affiliate guy with his tentacles in many pies.
Captain Kirk
Does he have any time in between sleeping with the female members of the crew and discovering frankly implausible alien species? Why yes, he does. And I reckon he’d be an online Texas Hold ‘Em player, with some online roulette in between. He’d bet large amounts and lose all of the time, his inflated ego burying any logic in his gameplay. He’d refuse to listen to Spock’s admonishments and cite his captaincy as reason to keep boldly going where he really shouldn’t go. He does have a lot of fun though.

Being logical and unaffected by the emotions of gambling, Data from Star Trek The Next Generation would take himself to the Holodeck, create a perfect world casino and logic the hell out of every game of roulette, slots and cards that he played. He’d come out a rich man but wouldn’t show any emotion - naturally. The ultimate poker-face you could say!
