Over the last few days, Sylvester Stallone has been on Twitter teasing the identity of the director for the third installment of his popular action franchise, The Expendables, going as far as asking fans what they think of Mel Gibson in the role. Well, that was proved to be a ruse, but he has now confirmed that Patrick Hughes has gotten the job. This will be Hughes' second feature, after the well received Australian film Red Hill.
There is no word on what members of the original cast will return (Stallone is a given) for this third installment, but Satllone has confirmed that Wesley Snipes and Jackie Chan, who agreed to appear only if it wasn't in a minor role (he had to turn down the part in The Expendables 2 that went to Chuck Norris), were on board. No release date has been set as of yet.
