When Jurassic Park 4 was announced a couple months back for release next year, I thought it too good to be true. A director, Colin Trevorrow, was only picked when the announcement came, meaning pre-production hadn't even begun. In fact location scouting only began last week. A movie like this needs quite a bit of prep time, so it comes as no surprise that word has filtered back that the project has been delayed indefinitely. The official reason given is to make the movie 'bigger' (kind of makes you wonder what the movie was like before the delay), so I guess the wait for more cloned dinosaur action is worth it. Here's the official statement for Universal:
"In coordination with filmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmkaers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal's beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision Colin Trevorrow has created for thsi film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise's storied history"
