Coming from Korean director Bonh Joon-Ho, the mastermind behind 2006's wonderful The Host, Snowpiercer, adapted from the French graphic novel La Transperceneige, imagines a future where a new Ice Age has forced the remainder of humanity into the Snowpiercer, a gigantic train that travels the globe, where a class divide threatens to spill over into revolution. The first trailer for the film has hit, and it is absolutley wonderful. The ambition of the project is absolutely breathtaking, with an interesting take on the 99% vs 1% debate, and a completely unrecognisible Tilda Swinton on wonderful form as the fearsome face of the establishment. Released in Korea on August 1st, but no dates for the rest of the world have been revealed yet.
UPDATE: Thanks to the Film Stage, we have a much better quality version of the trailer to marvel at.
