Directed by Park Chan-wook, the 2003 thriller Oldboy is pretty much a classic of Korean cinema, a beautifully put together and powerful viewing experience. Of course, there would be an attempt at a Hollywood remake, with Spike Lee in the director's chair, and Josh Brolin as the man who finds himself embarking on an obsessive journey of revenge after being freed from 15 years of confinement. Sharlto Copely and Elisabeth Olsen round out the cast.
The first trailer is coming to us on Wednesday, but FilmDistrict have shared with us the first poster. There are some really nice little details here, especially the treatment of the title, which is based off Brolin's own hand writing, inspired by the handwritten letters his character writes to his daughter in the movie.
Released: 25th October (U.S.)/ 6th December (U.K./IRL)
