With Coraline and Paranorman, the Laika animation studio showed off their talents for mixing absolutely gorgeous animation with well told stories and subject matter a bit above your average kids film. They are at it agin with The Boxtrolls, the tale of a group of a trolls who are believed to be terrorising the town of Cheesebridge. The truth of the matter is that they are lovable creatures, trying to car for an orphaned human child called Eggs. When the Boxtrolls are targeted by a ruthless exterminator, Eggs must come to their rescue. We still have over a year till it hits the big screen, but we have the first trailer for the project. Not only does it feature animation quality you would expect from Laika, it also offers a very charming take on the current model of the modern family.
