With it's long and troubled development (losing it's original director Steven Soderbergh, long time advocate and star Tom Cruise dropping out) I find it strange that Guy Ritchies The Man from U.N.C.L.E., an adaption of the classic 60's spy t.v. series, will be heading into production in September. With that start date slowly approaching, another member of the cast has been added, with Hugh Grant taking on a supporting role as the head of British naval Intelligence. It was no doubt a short, very British list, made shorter by the fact Colin Firth and Michael Caine have signed on for Matthew Vaughn's very similar The Secret Service.
Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer take on the lead roles of Napolean Solo and Illya Kuryakin, special agents of the mysterious United Network Command for Law Enforcement who battle to make the world a safer place. Alicia Vikander will take on the lead female role. No release date for the movie has being set yet.
