It’s all gone absolutely bonkers about Star Wars Episode VII. Absolutely bonkers. As big of a Star Wars fan as I am, we’re not posting too much on the site at the moment because there is nothing but rumours left right and center and some sites are picking up cheap and pointless traffic. Things are getting so bad that I’m expecting the “We saw J.J. Abrams come out of a toilet and we’re pretty sure he was doing a Wookie impression in the cubicle, so Chewie must be in episode VII.
All that in mind, the following is floating around at the moment and all roads seem to lead to Star Wars or does it? After all open casting calls happen all the time and this could be for anything. It was originally posted online by UK Open Call who are on a nationwide search for lead roles for a Walt Disney Pictures Film.
I’ve reached out to the studio directly and the response I’ve got is “We have no comment at this stage.”. And that can mean a million and one things. I know the conspiracy theorists are thinking otherwise with the whole “no comment” thing right now, but in my experience of working in the media, sometimes companies generally have no comment to make or may not even be aware fully of whats going on. That said, and also in my experience, it can be a deflection. Basically, no comment means you’re none the wiser.
With so much frothing at the mouth about Episode VII, somebody could hold auditions in the desert and people will think “Holy Fuck, an audition in the desert? They must be going to Tatooine “
I wouldn’t be polishing off your lightsaber skills just yet and in any event, if this is by chance an audition for Star Wars Episode VII, you’ll never know and will be told after you get the gig and sign an NDA! In any event, can you imagine the pandemonium if this was announced as an actual Star Wars audition event? Seriously!
