Currently wowing the festival circuit, Caradog James's dark sci-fi thriller, The Machine, has debuted a trailer, and it is pretty spectacular. A U.K., low budget production, it concerns a dark future where Britain is locked in a cold war with a new enemy. With the ministry of defense looking into developing a new, game changing weapon, "The Machine", is created, a cutting edge android with unsurpassed psychical and processing skills. But a programming glitch turns Britain's greatest weapon against them.
Low budget movies rarely have this level of polish to them, with some scenes making me think I was watching a blockbuster, and the story feels like a fresh new take on the well worn man vs. machine plot. Starring Caity Lotz and Toby Stevens, The Machine is set for a European release in March of 2014.
