It's no secret New Zealand is insanely proud of being home to Peter Jackson's Middle-Earth, and come with unique ways of capitalising on the tourism potential of that. Following on from last years The Hobbit branded plane, Air Zealand have done it again for the upcoming Desolation of Smaug, plastering a Boeing 777-300ER with our first proper look at the titular dragon (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch), who has being only glimpsed in trailer up until now. For those travelling on the Air New Zealand Aukland to Los Angeles route, you can now say you've flown on Smaug. How awesome is that?!
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released on December 13th.
