We've gotten a few tidbits from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 over the last few days ahead of the first trailers debut on Thursday, and now Columbia Pictures have released the first official poster. A triptych affair, it gives us our first look at the trio of villains who will be causing trouble for web head.
Jamie Foxx looks the part as Electro, and if the rumours that the movie will be receiving the subtitle Rise of Electro, we will no doubt be seeing a lot of him. I don't know about turning The Rhino into a mechanical monstrosity, especially with Paul Giamatti in the role. It is also our first confirmation that The Green Goblin will be making an appearance, and from the billboard on the right hand side (embiggen the image to have a good look at all the little details dotted about), it looks like Dane DeHann's Harry Osborn will be taking the mantle. Where this leaves Chris Cooper's Norman Osborn, the original Green Goblin, is anybody's guess.
Synopsis: We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
Released: 18th April 2014 (IRL/U.K.)/ 2nd May 2014 (U.S.)
