While we knew DC Comics' two biggest icons would be coming together in Superman vs. Batman, Warner Bros. have announced that DC's superhero trinity would be completed with the addition of Wonder Woman (or at least her alter ego, Diana Prince). Joining Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, Fast and Furious's Gal Gadot will be donning the bullet deflecting bracelets to play the Maid of Might. In a statement, director Zack Snyder had this to say about the casting:
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first film incarnation of this beloved character."
Not much is known of Gadot's involvement in the film, but I suspect it will be something akin to an extended cameo, leading to a Wonder Woman movie or even a Justice League. Either way, her addition to the cast is kind of a big, finally putting DC's three major heroes on the big screen together.
Superman vs. Batman is set for release on July 17th 2015.
