New Zealand takes enormous pride in what Peter Jackson has done and continues to do so. This week, the Giant Eagles which were so instrumental in first part of The Hobbit swooped into Wellington Airport in New Zealand. Created by Weta Workshop, and in time for The Desolation of Smaug, the eagles, along with Gandalf atop one, looks nothing short of mind-blowing. There’s a time lapse video below and some footage of this epic display! We also have a second video with the official launch by Sir Richard Taylor (co-founder of Weta Workshop) and its this second video does a great job of highlighting the insane amount of detail and work involved. Every single feather was created and “nailed” on! Insanity and sheer brilliance! Good job Weta!
