The found footage genre was usually just the realm of horror movies, but in the last few years it has expanded to take in superheroes (Chronicle) and drunk teenagers (Project X). Now time travel is getting the found footage treatment with Welcome to Yesterday. Originally called Almanac, this is produced by Michael Bay, and concerns a group of teenagers who find a time machine, using it to go on a series of mis-adaventures, including passing a previously failed test and going to a music festival they couldn't go to before. But they mustn't have watched any time travel movies before, because their travels have disastrous effects on the present.
