The latest trailer (third in fact) for 300: Rise of an Empire has arrived, and while it doesn’t show a whole lot of new footage, it reiterates the point that this will have some spectacular, bloody action. That said, I wonder is the trailer giving away too many of the best bits? And if history has thought us anything (besides that over weight bird dying out), its that movies that showcase alot of set pieces in their trailers, can be very poor outside of the aforementioned set pieces.
The movie itself is based on Frank Millers Xerxes, which he hasn’t c completed as of yet. From my understanding he has only handed in two issues to Dark Horse and that was back in early 2011. So, we have a movie based on only 2 un released comic books. And with Miller currently up to his eye balls in Sin City 2, one wonders is there much hope for this? But we won’t judge (damn it, we are judging already) until the movie lands on March 7th.
