Resulting in on less movie duking it out in the Blockbuster packed Summer of 2015, and denying us another head to head of Marvel and DC's big guns with Avengers: Age of Ultron released that same Summer, Warner Bros. have announced that Superman vs. Batman will be moving to May 6th 2016. No reasons for the move have been given, with the press release accompanying the announcement citing the usual spiel of "allowing the film makers time to realize fully their vision".
Rumours that Ben Affleck, the new Batman, has injured his leg are doing the rounds, though these are unsubstantiated at the moment. It is worth noting however that production, which was slated to begin in the next few weeks, has been moved tot he second quarter of this year. The move also seems like a calculated move on Warner Bros. part, with as a yet unannounced Marvel Studio's movie being released on the same date. With Marvel's big guns out of way, it will be a struggle for the lower profile Marvel characters (with Doctor Strange and Black Panther being the front runners) to go against combined popularity of Supes and Bats.
