He's been with the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the the very beginning, and it looks like Paul Bettany, the voice of Iron Man's OS JARVIS, will be getting a bigger role, stepping up to play android The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The characters inclusion in the sequel has been rumoured for a long time, seeing as he was created by mega maniacal robot Ultron to battle the Avengers before breaking free of his programming and becoming a long-standing member of the team, with Clark Gregg and Vin Diesel both linked to him. Bettany's casting was announced by the not-really-reliable-at-all Daily Mail, but it has since been backed by a number of other publications, such as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, so it seems to be the real deal.
JARVIS evolving into a fully fledged android has been rumoured for a while now. At one point, it was suggested that Bettany would be playing Ultron, with the OS going fully evil, but that was thrown out when the role went to James Spader. The Vision seems like a better fit for both the actor and the character, and it does suggest we will see more of Bettany as Marvel Studio's grand plan marches forward.
