Directed by Invincible's Ericson Core, the upcoming Point Break remake is gaining a lot of steam ahead of its production start date in the Summer. Gerard Butler has already signed on to play Bodie (originally played by Patrick Swayze), and Alcon Entertainment have announced a replacement for Keanu Reeves has been found, with Luke Bracey cast as Johnny Utah, who infiltrates Bodie's gang of adrenaline junkie bank robbers. A relative unknown, Bracey's most famous role to date is as Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe: Retaliation (not that you would recognise him, spending most of the time with his face covered by a reflective face plate), and is more than likely hoping to join Chris Hemsworth and Isla Fisher in the "Home and Away stars done good" club.
Very little is known of the plot of the remake, but we do know that the Californian surf culture back drop of the original will be replaced with the world of international extreme sports, maybe upping the scope and scale of the story. No release date has been given as of yet, but it is expected to see the light of day in 2015.
