The Purge had a great idea, that one night a year all laws are thrown out allowing people to carry out their darkest desires, at its core, but sadly the finished product didn't add up to much, saddling the concept with a lacklustre home invasion plot. But it raked in $36 million from a budget of $3 million, so now we have The Purge: Anarchy, starring Micheal K. Williams (Robocop, The Wire), Frank Grillo (The Grey, End of Watch), and Zach Gilford (Devil's Due, The Last Stand). Judging by the first teaser trailer, it is going bigger in scale, opening up the story to show a completely new group of people trying to make their way through a city block turned into a war zone due to The Purge. In my opinion, this is better suited for the concept, showing much more of the world writer/director James DeMonaco has envisioned. Check it out for yourself below.
