Pioneers in the art of animation and filmmaking, Pixar have created some of the most celebrated films of the past 25 years. These films are among the top 50 highest-grossing animated features of all time and between them have won 15 Oscars, including 7 for Best Animated Feature, 7 Golden Globes and 11 Grammy Awards. At Pixar in Concert you can experience the very best visual moments of these films while the memorable scores of Michael Giacchino, Randy Newman, Thomas Newman and Patrick Doyle are brought to life by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
As Ritch Sibthorpe, managing director at Disney Music Group observed: ‘A whole generation has grown up with the memorable soundtracks of Disney Pixar movies and everyone has their favourite song or musical moment from the Studio's incredible animation catalogue.’
As a review of an Australian performance of Pixar in Concert said: ‘The show was not only a perfect tribute to the animation juggernaut, but a demonstration of how truly integral music has been to its success’ (Time Out, Sydney).
