It's been ten years since Zach Braff made his directorial debut with cult classic Garden State, and while it was a long time coming, he's back behind the camera with the Kickstarter-funded Wish I Was Here. It tells the story of a man (Braff) trying to find purpose in his life in the face of fatherhood, a struggling career as an actor, and his own father's (Mandy Patinkin) impending death, but the first teaser trailer doesn't really give that much away, instead letting The Shins (they played a big part in Garden State, so Braff must be a fan) play over scenes from the movie. The laid back, whimsical tone is similar to his debut, and behind the camera or in front of it, Braff has always delivered. Check out the teaser below.
Released: 18th July (U.S.)/ 19th September (IRL/U.K.)
