RIP Eli Wallach

SHARE:

A true acting legend, Eli Wallach has sadly passed away at the age of 98. The son of Polish Jewish growing up in New York City, Wallach began his career in 1956, his first notable role came in 1960's The Magnificent Seven, playing bandit leader Calvera. Westerns were his bread and butter for much of his early career, and this career path brought him his most famous role, Tuco in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The Ugly of the title, Wallach put in an extremely memorable turn, even giving Clint Eastwood a run for his money. The death of the Western genre didn't mean the end of his career, and he would go onto appear in movies for many, many years to come, including The Two Jakes, The Godfather Part III, Mystic River, The Holiday, The Hoax, and Wall Street: The Mony Never Sleeps. The thoughts of everyone here at The Movie Bit are with his friends and family at this hard time.
