The first film from director Ned Benson, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby is an ambitious project, actually comprising three movies. Three different versions of the film exist, Him, Her, and Them, each telling the story of a young married couple (Jame McAvoy and Jessica Chastain) from each of their perspectives as they deal with a life changing event, with Them presenting their story as a whole. Them is the version that will be widely seen, with Him and Her each getting a limited release. The first trailer for the project is very promising, not overly soppy, but you can sense fingers off camera just waiting to pluck at your heart strings. McAvoy and Chastain seem to have great chemistry, and the ambition of this project makes it all the more intriguing.
