Based on the cult novel by Boris Vain, the French language feature Mood Indigo sees director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind, The Science of Sleep) at his best, marrying a sweet story with his own brand of quirky, lo-fi effects. A surreal love story, it stars Audrey Tatou and Romain Duris as Chloe and Colin, a couple who fall madly and deeply in love with each other, only for the good times to come to an end when a water lilly starts growing in her lung. The trailer below is probably Gondry at his best, totally letting loose with some beautiful visuals, and Tatou and Duris display a wonderful chemistry that helps bring this quirky love story to life.
