Everything seemed to be going so well for Assassin's Creed. The video game adaption, which sees an ancient group of assassins fight the Templar's throughout history, had a producer and star on board straight away with Michael Fassbender, a director in the form Justin Kurzel (who already worked with Fassbender on the upcoming MacBeth), and an August 7th 2015 release date. But now the movie, which hasn't started production yet, has seen its release date taken over by the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, leaving it in limbo.
It is certainly a blow to Assassin's Creed, which had every chance of bucking the trend of every video game adaption being awful, to fall off the release schedule altogether, and, right now, it is uncertain if we will ever see the movie.
