Shot in Cork City last winter, indie feature Dead Dogs will be marking it's World Premiere as part of the upcoming the IndieCork Film Festival. Directed by St. John's College graduate Ian Ruby, the feature is a stark, heartfelt portrait of struggling families, mental illness, and isolation, and a labour of love for all those involved. Shot over the course of thirteen days in and around the city on no budget, it brings in a wealth of local talent, in front of and behind the camera, including actors Karol Mann O'Connor, Irene Kelleher, Shane Doonan, Lochlainn McKenna, and Martina Carroll. Speaking of all the work put into the project, Ruby said, "The film was not funded by any organisation and was made with immense talent, charity and support from our friends and family. It is an incredible to be able to have it World Premiere at IndieCork."
The screening takes place at the Gate Cinema October 12th at 6:30 p.m., and information on how to buy tickets can be found here.
