With Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Can, and The Terminal, Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are teaming up again for an untitled spy thriller based on the true story of attorney James Donovan, who was tasked by the CIA with negotiating with the Russian government for the release of a captured U-2 pilot during the height of the Cold War. Working from a script by the Coen Brothers (they have my money all ready) and Matt Charman, principal photography on the movie has begun in New York, with the production also taking in Berlin. Joining Hanks in the supporting cast are Alan Alda (who will forever be known for his fantastic turn in M*A*S*H), Mark Rylance (The Other Boleyn Girl), and Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone). With a release date (in the U.S. at least) set for October 16th 2015, we should start getting more information on this in the coming months, and it will be interesting to see what Spielberg and Hanks have in store for us the fourth time round.
