With Avatar 2 set for a December 2016 release, and two more sequels set for the two years that follow, James Cameron is gearing up to shoot the movies back to back, but he did take time out to speak to Empire, and in doing so, uttered the two lines that should get everybody to buy their tickets for the return to Pandora now. Speaking of the story lines of the sequels, that will again involve Jake (Sam Wortington) and Neytiri while also bringing back the deceased Quaritch (Stephen Lang) and Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver), Cameron said, "They gonna be bitchin'. You will shit yourself with your mouth open." If that isn't the single greatest piece of marketing, I have no idea what is.
Going into more detail, without indulging in more expletives, Cameron spoke of the writing process, which involved Josh Friedman (Avatar 2), Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Avatar 3), and Shane Salerno (Avatar 4), saying, "I think we met for seven months and we whiteboarded out every scene in every film together, and I didn't assign each writer which film they were going to work on until the last day. I knew if I assigned them their scripts ahead of time, they'd tune out out every time we were talking about the other movie." He also talked about he he would be shooting of the movie in HFR (much like The Hobbit), opting for 48 FPS as opposed to 60, but I don't really care how hi-def the movies look, he had me at bitchin'.
