The Expendables 3 was released during the Summer to a less than stellar box office, partly due to the movie being leaked online weeks before its theatrical release and the decision to cut the violence and gore of the first two movies to appeal to a wider audience. Despite being fairly behind the decision to make the movie PG-13 (12A on this side of the pond) in the beginning, producer and star Sylvester Stallone, speaking to Crave Online about the imminent DVD and Blu-Ray release of the movie, has revealed he now regrets it, saying "I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone's part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I'm quite certain it won't happen again." Stallone went on to confirm that his sights are set on an Expendables 4, teasing the demise of one or more of the major characters, something he can't bring himself to pull off judging by previous installments. While I did enjoy the Expendables 3 more than most, it may be time for the franchise to hang up it's guns. Sound off with your thoughts below.
