Things didn't get off to a good start for Western Jane Got a Gun, starring Natalie Portman as woman who calls on her ex-lover to defend her home and injured outlaw husband from her husband's gang. Michael Fassbender and Joel Edgerton were signed on to play the ex-lover and gang leader respectively, but when Fassbender left due to a scheduling, Edgerton moved into the role he vacated, and Jude Law coming onboard as the villain. Then, director Lynne Ramsey (We Need To Talk About Kevin) unexpectedly dropped out on the first day of shooting, with Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) signing up to replace. Just as everything seemed to be sorted, Law left because he only wanted to work with Ramsey. Bradley Cooper was chosen to replace him, then scheduling conflicts again reared their ugly head, and he had to drop. The production finally landed on Ewan McGregor to play the movie's big bad, and everything seems to be going swimmingly now. The movie is et to see the light of day in September, and now we have the first images from the movie, which focus on Portman and Edgerton. They do look promising, and hopefully the movie will deliver enough to distance itself from its troubled beginnings. Check them out below.
