Just one of the surprises at Marvel Studio's Phase Three announcement last year, Captain Marvel, due to hit our screens on November 2nd 2018, will be the first female led super hero movie to be the part of the MCU, and one that has seen quite a few casting rumours (with everyone from Gina Carano to Emily Blunt apprently up for the role) doing the rounds since it was announced. But the latest rumour surrounding the movie is the most interesting yet, with Latino Review reporting that the role of Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel's alter ego, has already been cast, and we will be seeing her a lot sooner than expected. Say, like, Avengers: Age of Ultron. That soon.
This is in keeping with comments that Joss Whedon let slip about there being previously unannounced heroes showing up in the highly anticipated sequel, but I think it is safe to assume we all thought it would be Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther or Spider-Man in a stealth cameo where he kept his mask on. Captain Marvel was the furthest from my mind, but if Marvel Studios have already cast Captain Marvel they have done the impossible, and kept a super hero casting secret in a world ruled by the internet. But again, this is still only a rumour, so should be taken with a grain of salt until we hear something official.
