Coming from Senna director Asif Kapadia, Amy uses extensive archive footage and previously unheard tracks to give us unprecedented insight into the tragic life of six time Grammy award winner Amy Winehouse. She was a genuine musical talent unlike few we have seen before, using her own songs to analyse her own problems, whose troubled relationships and lifestyle unfortunately began to outshine her musical achievements, until she died in 2011 from alcohol poisoning at the age of 27.
Amy reaches cinemas on this side of the pond on July 3rd, and promises an insightful and heart breaking look at one of the purest musical talents of this generation.
