Ahead of its premiere in Cannes next month, Empire have new images of Justin Kurzel's Macbeth (or the Scottish film for the superstitious amongst you), featuring Michael Fassbender in the title role as William Shakespeare's most famous and compelling characters, a general prophesied to become king of Scotland, and Marion Cotillard as Lady Macbeth, his manipulative and ruthless wife. It's interesting to not that the three are teaming up again for video game adaption, Assassin's Creed.
Joining Fassbender and Cotillard for a heavy dose of political intrigue and flower language are Sean Harris, Paddy Considine, and David Thewlis. Macbeth hits our shores in October, while no release date given for the U.S. as of yet.
