Hitting our screens next year, Disney’s Zootropolis (known as Zootopia in the States) sees Wreck-It Ralph and Tangled directors Rich Moore and Byron Howard join forces to take us into the titular city inhabited solely by talking animals, which, judging by the synopsis below is first animated buddy cop comedy the House of Mouse has put out, and it definitely has an air of 48 Hours about it (well, a family friendly version at the very least):
In the animal city of Zootropolis, a fast-talking fox who's trying to make it big goes on the run when he's framed for a crime he didn't commit. Zootopia's top cop, a self-righteous rabbit, is hot on his tail, but when both become targets of a conspiracy, they're forced to team up and discover even natural enemies can become best friends.
It’s also worth noting that two Disney movies next year, with the more traditional Moana following this more Wreck-It Ralph/Big Hero Six inspired animation. So, it’ll really be the best of both worlds as far as Disney is concerned in 2016.
Released: 4th March 2016 (U.S.)/ 25th March 2016 (IRL/U.K.)
