With the recent run of posters, I think we were all geared up for London has Fallen to explode it’s way onto the big screen on October 2nd, but now word has reached us from Gramercy Films that the Olympus has Fallen sequel will be coming our way a little later than planned, January 22nd 2016 to be more precise. The change comes hot on the heels of 20th Century Fox’s decision to set October 2nd as the release date of Ridley Scott’s The Martian, moving the movie to a safer date that won’t put it in conflict with the likely box office juggernaut that is Matt Damon in space.
Synopsis: After the British Prime Minister passes away, his funeral becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service head (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. Morgan Freeman also stars as the Vice President of the United States.
