A few weeks back, a rumour surfaced that the title for the second sequel in the rebooted Star Trek series would be Star Trek Beyond, continuing Star Trek Into Darkness’ hatred of colons. Well, with the film now in production, new director Justin Lin has tweeted our first look from the set, featuring the familiar symbol of Starfleet, and confirmed, that, yes, next year we will be asking for ticket to Star Trek Beyond.

While we know the principal cast will be returning, joined by newcomers Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella, little else of what Star Trek Beyond, written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, has in store for us when it lands in cinemas July 8th 2016. Though, the Beyond in the title does have me wishing that they'll be done with what has come before, and deliver a completely new adventure in this new universe full of potential.
