For its first time at San Diego Comic-Con, Star Wars made quite the impact at its panel last night, with JJ Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, John Boyega, Daisy Ridely, Oscar Isaccs, Domhnail Gleeson, Adam Driver, and Gwendolyn Christie played host to the 6,500 Star Wars fans in attendance, with Abrams even inviting those in attendance to a free Star Wars concert straight after (which wasn’t good for Kevin Smith, whose annual panel was scheduled straight after Star Wars). But highlight of the night has to go to this wonderful behind the scenes video, which has thankfully has made its way online.
I predicted a new trailer, and have being proven wrong, but really, this is a hundred times better. Being taken behind the scenes, seeing the practical effects, seeing how everybody involved views being part of this mammoth franchise.........it’s kinda magical, and stokes that feeling of joy that the mere mention of Star Wars that lives in just about everyone. I was excited before, but now the wait for December 18th has just become almost unbearable.
