Not content with donning the bat-suit for Batman v Superman (and the other 500 DC movies he'll no doubt have a part in) Ben Affleck is set to direct AND star in a Batman movie. Affleck is also co-writing the movie alongside DC's Chief Creative Officer. Now before anyone loses their shit, keep in mind that Affleck is a talented director, actor and he's got a gold statue somewhere for writing something about a dead poet or something.
The movie will take place after whatever goes down in Batman v Superman and the Justice League movie, so we're looking at a 2018 release date at the earliest
While directing and acting in the same movie are a huge undertaking, Affleck has done it a number of times already and all with pretty damn epic results. The Town and Argo were all fine movies and not forgetting Gone Baby Gone (where he once again double jobbed, writing and directing) Affleck seems quite at home with a heavy workload.
That aside, one wonders what insights the actor has gotten into the Batman character as a whole, especially during the production of Batman v Superman. I know some of you are sharpening the pitch forks, but hold tough fair geeks. Affleck will have a damn good crack off this one I think.
