A few months back, we got word that Chris Pine was going the cast of Wonder Woman, in the role of the titular warrior’s long standing love interest, Steve Trevor. Despite rumours that he was in fact being courted to join the DC Comics Cinematic Universe as Green Lantern Hal Jordan, the Wrap are reporting that Pine has signed on the dotted line to star alongside Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman.
While the plot of the 2017 release is of course being kept under warps, there are suggestions that Trevor’s role will not go down the traditional love interest route, with plenty of action on hand to keep Pine busy. As is the way with contracts for movies of this type, the actor is said to be locked into a multi-picture deal, including sequels.
After her appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice next year, Wonder Woman’s solo outing comes our way June 23rd 2017.
